Godwin Organ...erm guitar

Godwin Organ Guitar
This looks like the most confusing guitar I've ever seen but apparently if you put the output through a Leslie Cabinet it's hard pick the organ sounds from a real tonewheel Hammond! There's a plethora of rotary knobs and switches of which I have no idea what they do but I read somewhere that you can add and subtract percussion and tremolo but I'm not sure if this refers to the guitar sounds, the organ sound or both? I did find this little tidbit though:

"...frets were wired to tone generators and string contact completed the 'circuit', creating the organ sound."

There are some great photos of this unique guitar here.

I have one. It definitely is cool and unique! It is also VERY VERY rare. These are basically a later incarnation of the "Guitorgan" instrument created in the 60's by Bob Murrell of Waco, TX.

The Godwin is very B3-ish as stated...much more realistic in tone than the MCI Guitorgan. When put through my Leslie sim, the Godwin definitely is hard to distinguish from a real B3.

Unique to the Godwin are rotary volume controls for the organ drawbars, as well as individual switches to instantly cut each drawbar on or off. There are percussion on/off switches for each drawbar. There is a built-in vibrato with fast and slow settings. The volume pedal (and power supply) has a stereo output. One channel is the organ signal, the other is the straight guitar signal.
