Gibson SG Fool reproduction
Posted by Jon in • Crazy Guitar Designs,

From GuitarHangar.com:
“This guitar is a faithful reproduction of the “Fool” SG, made famous by Eric Clapton when he was guitarist for the band Cream in the 60’s.”
“The artwork was not air brushed like most of them [copies] on the market, but hand painted with a brush exactly like the original. We have painstakingly researched this piece from every angle before setting out to create the ultimate “Fool” SG reproduction. This guitar is as close to the original as you are going to find, period.”
“We change the bridge to the same one as the original, We change the tuners to the same as the original, we custom make the truss rod cover to match the original, right down to the extra screw in the pick guard, we have gone the extra mile to make this as accurate to the original as humanly possible.”
And yours for the bargain price of $5,499.99.

Washburn Paul Stanley Preacher Series
Posted by Jon in • Cool Guitars,

Washburn Guitars today announced the the addition of the very cool looking Preacher Guitar to the Paul Stanley Signature Series. The shape is like a Les Paul with a bit of KISS attitude thrown in! The Paul Stanley Preacher comes in four models and the PS9200WH pictured left is the top of the line deluxe guitar Paul has been playing on tour which is crafted in the Washburn custom shop along with the PS9000 and comes with Art deco headstock inlays, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups and is available in black and white.
“What I wanted to do in designing the Preacher was to create a new guitar with an old soul,” said Paul Stanley of Kiss. “In essence, a historical classic that could have, but never actually existed. The design incorporates all the features, tone and spirit of an old iconic guitar but with better neck access and a unique take on a familiar shape. I was determined to retain all the characteristics that made a legendary guitar the gold standard for the last 50 years and yet create something new, unique and improved. I like to call it ‘history with an attitude.’”
More curves than you can shake a stick at!

Erik Hokanson does not make your average acoustic guitar, nor does he make your average furniture come to mention it. He takes a little bit of a skewed approach to guitar design, and judging by his site it seems to be more of a hobby than anything. Here are the limited details for the Triple Bout Guitar pictured left:
Yellow cedar top, walnut back, mahogany sides and back. Price:$1200.00
Wow, thats not cheap! Not sure many people would pay that much for something that appears to be more of a novelty guitar, especially as Erik himself says that the guitar has a small sound with strange reverberation! Mind you stick it on eBay and I’m sure someone will buy it!

Rees F7S, rabbits love them!
Posted by Jon in • Cool Guitars,

If you are looking specifically for a studio guitar as opposed to a live guitar then check out this Rees F7S. Each pickup has individual volume and tone knobs and also each pickup has it’s own 3 way selector switch so you can select off, single coil or humbucker. There is a performance model alternative where you can activate the coil tap from pushing and pulling the tone knob too. I like the fact that there are no plastic covers over the electronics, instead they are covered by solid mahogany to preserve optimum resonance throughout the guitar, and obviously to make it look nice! The guitar also has a chambered body for better tone and a heavyweight inset fixed bridge for strong sustain. The only thing I don’t like is the headstock design, I prefer the headstock on the standard F2, go on call me old fashioned!
