Christmas present idea for guitarists - Fret12 Tees

Christmas is fast approaching so I thought I would give you all another Christmas present idea for guitarists. Fret12 (you may remember my review of their Mark Tremonti and Leslie West DVD’s recently) if not check them out, they are also a great Christmas gift idea! Anyway Fret12 also make cool t-shirts and in particular I liked the “Strung Out Guy” pictured above (click the link to go to their store) which is $28 and their “Coiled” t-shirt which is very cool too. And don’t worry, Fret12 also make t-shirts for your better half too like the Fret12 Flower Girl Shirt.
Hopefully my wife is reading this and will order me one for Christmas?

Playable Guitar T-Shirt

Yes you read that title correctly, ThinkGeek have created a T-Shirt called The Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt which has a 7 fret fingerboard where each fret contains 2 buttons, top and bottom containing different Major chords. If you strum without pressing a button it plays an E Major of course! Now it says Major chord but I would have thought a power chord would be more appropriate, maybe it does? Using both sets of upper and lower buttons you can play a full octave of chords using the included magnetic pick. You might be wondering where the sound comes from? Well you plug into an included mini amp of course! The amp clips on to your belt so you can annoy people at the bus stop with your Black Sabbath riffs. And yes the amp goes up to 11… how original.

Guitar Tees

I thought I would share with you a bunch of Guitar T-Shirts that I discovered the other day over at
redbubble. The first, top left, is called Stormtrooper Guitarist by Zak Thorpe who has also created a few other guitar related tees. The next T-Shirt, 2nd from left, is called Guitar Zombie by artist Curua. Next, 3rd from the left is The Blues by Douglasbot and last but not least Body Art: Clapton by Jason Moses which features Eric Clapton’s famous Gibson SG, The Fool. Jason has also created a couple of other guitars, the Morello (Tom obviously) and the Harrison (yes George) which are also great T-Shirts.
The T-Shirts are priced around $25 each and they ship out of the US, I just ordered one myself think I’m going to have to get a few!

Metal Vader T-Shirt

It appears Mr Lucas has a sense of humour, I was just checking out there T-Shirts in their online shop when I came across this “Metal Vader” shirt. It appears that the guitar he is playing is a Destroyer, I wonder if it is an Imperial Destroyer? Sorry I had to make that joke. Anyway I also saw this Han Solo guitar shirt over at IG Blog and thumbrella but this is not an official Star Wars product. Back to the official site and they also have this funny AC/DC spoof T-Shirt, R2/D2 - in prime condition. Mad me laugh.
UPDATE: I just received this email from the Star Wars shop (26/10/07) Please can we have a collective BOOOO!

Threadless - Rock the frog!

I’m not going to pretend I understand this T-Shirt because I don’t, is that supposed to be tadpoles coming out of the smashed strat? Who knows but if you like t-shirts of girls smashing frog impregnated strats this is the one for you!
