Emerald guitars - The Alien
The aptly named ‘The Alien’ guitar by Emerald Guitars is one of the most bizarre guitars I’ve ever seen. You can check out a video on the main page which shows the guitar from all angles although the annoying lighting actually makes it pretty difficult to really see what is going on! There is also a gallery which has loads of photos plus original sketches of Rory McGowan’s design.

“Rory McGowan joined our team early this year and right from the start he was sketching crazy guitar designs… The guitar was started in June with Rory working full time on it and myself over-seeing the work, getting as much hands-on as time would allow. By August it was starting to look close and was finally finished in September after at least 400 hours of hard but fulfilling work.”

I wonder how playable this guitar is? Surely that part that comes over the top of the neck must get in the way?
