First Act Guitar Configurator

I just saw a comment posted on my Killer Customs post about First Act’s custom shop so I went to the website to check it out. First of all I have to say this is one of the better guitar manufacturer websites that I have come across, nice clean design, nice use of flash for the promo panel on the homepage and a very nice custom shop page which is the reason for this post. I had to try out the guitar builder application. I’ve used quite a few of these flash configurators in the past for various things, being a web developer I’m always interested to see how good the user experience is. This one really delivers! Really simple to use, it is very clear how you use it and simple to change options such as humbucker configuration and wood choice for the body and neck. There are a lot of custom options and it didn’t take me long to rack up a $3000 guitar!! (see left) It’s great fun until you see the cost, but then what do you expect it is a custom!
