Joe Bonamassa Ernie Ball Double-neck
Posted by Jon in • Cool Guitars,

How is this for a guitar! Joe Bonamassa recently used an Musicman Baritone, at least live, playing the Ballad of John Henry and must have loved it so much he ordered a double neck. The top neck as you can see is a Baritone and the bottom neck a regular scale, it took the Y2D design except he wanted it with a cherry sunburst. The most amazing thing about this guitar is that from their meeting with Joe Bonamassa to an actual finished guitar only took 3 weeks just in time for his Albert Hall concert! Here’s some more info (and pics) from the Ernie Ball forum.
The pickups are Y2D except for single coils(custom) and the rings custom made. It has a 2 way selector switch as Joe does not want both guitars on at the same time. The bari neck is a thicker profile than the Y2D, and the body African Mahogany with maple top. No pickguard… 12.3lbs super light! Joe asked us to finish the back of the neck as he got used to the Petrucci BFR feel. I think the bursting is killer…
