TC Electronic announce the Nova Repeater

TC Electronic Nova Repeater
Musikmesse Frankfurt 2009 doesn’t officially start until this Wednesday April 1 but already the announcements have started filtering through, the first being the launch of DVK Tech pedals as mentioned not long ago on Guitar Noize. Now TC Electronic have announced the release of another delay pedal, the Nova Repeater. TC Electronic have already had a massive success with their Nova Delay pedal so how does this differ? TC Electronic say that this is a stripped down version of the Nova Delay but it certainly doesn’t seem to be lacking anything, it has two inputs dedicated to instrument or line level signals which means you can use it equally well in front of your amp or in an effects loop, something I learned recently is very important after trying to use my Vox Time Machine in the effects loop only to find that it runs at instrument level so didn’t work, also an FX.Level pot lets you adjust the wet level of your signal which means that you won’t get annoying level drops on your dry sound.

Nova Repeater has a new multi-function knob that lets you control the amount of modulation as well as turn the effect on/off. The chorus has been re-tuned making more dramatic modulation effects possible and, on top of that, a brand new vibrato mode has been added. This was a major request among Nova Delay users and makes it possible to emulate classic tape delay wow-and-flutter or create lush modulated pads with a volume pedal.

Again, taking on numerous user requests, we added a new dual delay - ¼ and 1/8 notes. This stereo delay is the secret behind Steve Lukather 80’s sound – just make sure you set the delay time at exactly 400ms.

So when they say trimmed down, they actually mean with added features? This pedal looks fantastic and apparently will retail for USD 149.99 which is about $100 less than the Nova Delay which with the current economic situation seems like a very good move for TC Electronic.
