The ‘Push Me Pull Me’ Overdrive is a great pedal with 3 different voicings from French company Custom 77. Custom 77 not only make effects but also guitars, basses and drums and everything they produce is affordable, for instance this pedal which most people would label a Boutique Overdrive is listed on their website as just 95 Euros and for that you are basically getting 3 Overdrive pedals in one. As you can hear in my demo there are three very different voicings, “Vintage”, “Modern” and “Wild” in fact it is very similar to my Ceriatone Chupacabra Amp in that respect. The “Vintage” mode is obviously the lower gain circuit and allows you to go from an old Stone’s style crunch to a very touch responsive but roaring overdrive. The “Modern” mode takes it up a notch and is perfect for 80′s rock rhythms or for adding sustain to an already overdriven amp and then “Wild” is all out thick and chunky Overdriven mayhem.

Aside from how great it sounds it also has very cool graphics courtesy of artist minasmoke, a switch to go from True Bypass to Buffered and a Ground Lift control too all for what I think is a very good price. Custom 77 also make a Boost pedal call “King For A Day” which I will be reviewing very soon too, it will also be interesting to see what these pedals sound like chained together!
