As with most inventions the best are the ones where you look at it and think why didn’t I think of that, the Planet Waves Guitar Rest is definitely in that category. The Guitar Rest is a ludicrously simple idea and for $10 you could save your guitar from sustaining serious damage. For as long as I can remember I have rested my guitar against my combo amps at band rehearsals. A few times I have had that horrible moment where you turn your back and hear your guitar slide off the amp and slam into the floor, luckily for me this has never caused any neck or headstock cracks but it so easily could have, especially if you have an angled headstock. The Guitar Rest can be used on any flat surface, Combo Amp, Table etc. and as you can see in my video above you just place it so that the heel butts up against the edge of the surface and the rubber will hold it firmly in place.

If you have a half or full stack it is a different story as the guitar rest simply sits too high, as you can see it is fine on a 2×12 with no head but otherwise you would have to put it on a different surface.
