Favored Nations Artist, former pupil of Joe Satriani and man behind some of the Guitar Hero recordings Doug Doppler knows a thing or two about how to Get Killer Tone. Well now Doug is working on a series of DVDs to teach you how to do just that, just watch the drool-worthy video above to see some of the amps Doug has been working with, and it’s not just amps Doug has been demoing, he also has a massive arsenal of effects pedals and guitars to show you. The four DVDs will be divided up by type Get Killer Tone: Guitars, Get Killer Tone: Effects, Get Killer Tone: Amps/Speakers/Cabinets, Get Killer Tone: Killer Rigs. As far as I know there aren’t any instructional DVDs devoted to gear and tone like this and I think it is a great idea, it took me years to get a bit of knowledge about what I needed to get the sounds I heard on records.
