Check out this cool video from Guitarist Magazine which is a rare chance to join Joe Bonamassa at home with his Gibson Custom Joe Bonamassa Les Paul, Gibson Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Studio and Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Gold Top. The best way to hear the differences is to start at the beginning of the video then skip to 2:27 for the Studio model and then 4:08 for the Epiphone. To my ears the Custom Shop sounds a lot warmer than the other two but the Epi sounds great if you don’t have the 4 or 2 grand to drop on the Gibbys.
