Just in case you are unfamiliar with Guns ‘n Roses – Appetite For Destruction and haven’t read the Slash biography there was a certain rented and modified Marshall JCM 800 2203 that was used for the recording. That particular amp has since been lost so Marshall are going to try and recreate an exact tonal replica called the AFD100 Project, Marshall have set up a website to enable you to track updates to this amp project which is cool, I think this is a first in the Guitar Amp industry.
For the very first time you will be able to follow the progress of the amplifier. From the concept, to the initial work by the designer, to drawing up the circuits, to Slash trying it and testing it. All the way through to what will hopefully be a summer launch this year. This website is dedicated to all things AFD100, keeping you up to date with the progress of the amp. We will be uploading video content, blog entries, and news on a regular basis as well as interviews with the design engineers, the skilled workmen and women in the factory, and of course Slash himself.
Follow the development, check out gallery photos, videos and blog post as they happed over at www.afd100.com.
