Pump Audio
There are, I’m sure, many people reading this blog who from time to time record some original music at home, numerous layers of guitars, programmed drums or maybe a few drum loops and hey presto have a brand new track that will sit on their hard drive pending deletion for the rest of their computers lifespan, what’s more these tracks might be pretty good and just get discarded because you can’t think of any lyrics or can’t sing. This is where Pump Audio comes in, they are an Independant publisher of music who license your music to Ad agencies for TV, Film and Web projects. Now its not as simple as write a track upload it and hey presto the money starts rolling in, there is an audition process whereby you submit a CD worth of music to them before you will be considered as a member but I guess that weeds out the absolute no-hopers who have just thrown together a track in the latest version of Instant song in a software package. Now I have considered joining Pump Audio myself but the problem is I just don’t seem to ever find the time to record so I have a CD full of nothing right now!

Here is the company description: Founded in 2001, Pump Audio is a new kind of agent for independent musicians, digitally connecting them with buyers in the mainstream media. With Pump Audio, artists can license their music into productions without giving up any ownership, while TV and advertising producers can discover new music ready for use.
