It has been literally a million years since I featured a crazy guitar on Guitar Noize which quite frankly makes me sad, however I found this ridiculous example and now I feel like bustin’ out my boardshorts even though it is winter here in Sydney and listening to some Beach Boys. OK so that is a lie, I’m not going to wear boardshorts when it is 15 degrees, and I’m not sure how many Beach Boys tracks I can take in succession. Anyway enough babble lets talk about this Guitar Surfboard or Surfboard Guitar or maybe it should just be Surf-tar? The most annoying thing about this thing is that I can’t find any information about it whatsoever so if you know please leave a comment! It looks incredibly uncomfortable to play and seems to be a strat based guitar with an H-S-H configuration and slotted into the board. I don’t really know what would make someone do this but I really want to see it used as a surfboard because it is way too ugly to be used as a guitar!
Update: Commenter Ken just pointed out to me that the guitarist pictured here is a famous Japanese guitarist called Masayoshi Takanaka.
