Taku Sakashta guitars are definitely focussed on Jazz guitars with the main bulk of instruments being Archtops but the Version R (pictured left) takes a modern approach on a classic design. “Hand-carved out hollow siderims on traditional and modern body styles.” What does this mean? Well what Taku Sakashta has done is taken a solid body guitar and enhanced it with hand-carved hollow siderims to reduce the internal volume and therefore have more control of the sound through the electrics and yet still have the sustain and full overtones from the resonating hollow rims, which are beautifully rounded to improve energy transmission apparently!
Sakashta guitars also make electric guitars like this amazing looking Noupaul (Les Paul copy) which has Transparent Black body, khaki pick guard and yellow tortoise binding. Even the rear photo looks sexy! Check out the full gallery of this instrument here.
