I saw this post over at guitarsite.com and had to add Tregan Guitars’ Firewick and Syren to my ever growing list of Crazy guitar designs. Now they won’t be to everybody’s taste but the standard of work that has gone into the construction of these instruments looks very high for what Tony Guarriello (President T.G., Inc) describes as “guitars for the beginner and intermediate player”. How many beginners get mahogany neck and body, humbucker pickups Grover tuners and custom inlays? Mind you I haven’t seen the price list yet but there are 2 versions of each guitar the standard and signature series. The signature series gets the fancy extras like the quilted and flame maple tops, ebony fretboards and mother of pearl inlays.
